Hunting Islands and water edges.
I have a few place that I can slip in with a kayak and be hunting close to bedding areas with my kayak.Any rules of thumb for hunting deer that are island deer? The 2 islands are 10 acres and maybe 15 acres in size.So not huge but not a postage stamp either. The one has huge old growth white acorn trees and 5-6 years ago when I ventured on it it was loaded with deer sign

Are the islands surrounded by cattails or water?

The key would be to know where the bedding is... You have to get on that island and get to your set up undetected. Thats not going to be easy. If you scout and find the bedding you can plan your access and set up accordingly.

I would expect bedding in the red areas but would also check the yellow transition lines.

Right where you put the red line in the cove is the top of a small10-15 foot tall ridge, super thick with brush and I have jumped deer out of there going into the cove to fish.Thats amazing that you picked up on that.I will be heading there this weekend and will take some pics while I am there setting cams and looking for sign
