Re: Opening/early season pics post
Youth season opened today......
My son drew special hunt, but the only access was today and tommorrow.
We hunted some other public land this morning, sat from 6AM
to 9AM. Nada.....
Went to the special hunt area at 2PM. Walked the edge of the beans and found a good spot.
Nice new scrape and broken lickin branch.
Got set up and waited .....
Four buck's started working out into the bean's around sunset, not grouped up and none in velvet. They all came out in differant spots.
Anyway we had a doe walk by just after that, Sam shot and I believe hit very high. Some red blood on one fletching, no blood trail.......
We will go out in the AM and look, but the doe circled around and blew behind us, I am pretty sure he just grazed her back.

Re: Opening/early season pics post
We saw the doe from the new set, other than being paranoid she looked fine.
She stood up 150 yards up wind in the beans and never moved until dark, other than licking her back...
The new set.
Sam was ready to drill this little guy.
But he got our wind about 5 yards short of a clear lane. It would have been a 15 yard shot.
It was good to see the doe was fine, and I am glad Sam did not use his buck tag on a young buck.
