The last Roe Deer from this last season...

Unread postby Liberty-Hunt » Sat May 24, 2014 7:26 pm

Sorry to post this adventure so late...(new job need a lot of time, you know...)

It was the 23rd February 2014.
We have the right to hunt about 1h before the sunrise until 1h after the sun set.
I retched my land at 7h05, just 15min late (should I say). I did try several time to hunt with my bow, but my territory was to new for me...
So I lost 1 deer and I didn't find any success on that challenge this year (just killed a Red fox with my bow, like you may see in a other treat).
It was the very last day that I could hunt (1 week before the end of the season), and the owner of the land wanted some deer meat.
So I hanging up one rifle (Tikka .270Win) and lets go to try...
Just 5min. after leaving my car, I shoot him! It was for sure a quick approach.
I saw several times in this place a roe doe.
And once again, she was there. But, she sow me the first.
She was not sure about me, so she stood still 40 yard away and looked in my direction to check if I'll fallow her or not.
Of course I didn't move...
And, with a great chance!!!! A deer shows him, fallowing the doe. He was hidden by a hedge and like I did, he had not seen me!
So , I aimed and shoot at +/-40 yards.

This is the pic of the place were I shoot this deer:

This is 1h later a view of the land:

This is the happiness:

I hope you'll appreciate this...

Good job Liberty-hunt. A very pretty chunk of land with very unique deer. Your buck looks very tasty.

Good story, very cool buck.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
