Just dont hit him during your daily commute and looks like you will have a fun chess match with him this upcoming season.

I can't wait for the next post. I love hearing stories like this. What is your game plan once the season starts? Do you think you could have more than one crack at him?

Thanks for the interest and kind replies :) It all helps!

Florida, I hope I get one crack at him and I make it count. After these past few seasons I've only seen him between 1-3 times each season, this last year being one encounter and from a distance. If you could have an inside look at my hard drive, you'd find tons of memory taken up with ariels from every angle and direction traced with color-coded lines of travel I've watched him from the stand and where I've captured him on trail camera and at what times. I feel like after these last several years I've read his story and soaked in every sentence. I believe between my encounters and intel, sided with the bed I located that was within the small area I had finally pinpointed on the aerial based on assumption, I've got his number and hope he answers when I'm on the line.

I'm so glad there is interest in following along on this mission as it has become an obsession of mine that I would enjoy all the more if I could share it with good folks like all of you who are actually interested in following along. Thanks for reading.

I'd really like to target a specific buck one day. I think it is the epitome of man vs beast.

I'm looking forward to seeing Bill Winke chase Big Jr. this year too.

Great read and even better story. Sounds like you have done your homework on him! Hopefully, you get one PERFECT encounter with him this Fall.

I'm guessing he never showed up last season?

Fabio never did re-emerge throughout the course of the season. A large buck was hit by a vehicle in front of the property over the night of Halloween. Whomever cut his rack off left a couple inches of base and the diameter was undeniably huge. Between both neighbors and myself, he never showed up on camera after that car hit; I can only suppose a doe got him in trouble and he strayed from his otherwise "safe" zone.

This year two new big ones showed up, one of which is a spitting image, but younger - maybe offspring?

Great story.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
