Ohio has nearly tripled it's # of bowhunters in the last ten years. Wisc grew 20, 000 new bowhunters in the same time frame. Texas lost nearly 20, 000 bowhunters in that same time frame.

per the article Iowa had just over 57,000 bowhunters in 2009.

They peaked at 76,000 in 2005.

I was more shocked by Texas just over 52,000. They must have a ton of gun hunters

This article showed trends over 10 years. Very interesting to see.

I would love to see the 10 year table of gun hunters to compare to this table

Nurse, the interesting thing about Ohio is they went from 120,000 in 1999 to 300,000 in 2005. Since 2005 they have been at 300,000 until 2009 where they bumped up to 325,000.

Let's do the math.

3.49 mil bow hunters. If 1 in 10 bought a beast video = 349,000 videos X $15 = $5,235,000
Dan, your going to be rich! 8-)

Ohio Game & Fish Magazine also states that in 2006, it was estimated that 140,000 hunters used crossbows in Ohio, making it one of the top crossbow hunting states.

Little off topic but......

MI just legalized crossbows.....what will happen to the number people taking up "archery"? Call me selfish......really don't want to see crossbows in WI during the regular archery season.

Mn bowhunter numbers are low compared to other states. I kinda figured that. Come gun season though look out.

That's interesting, I had heard that Michigan was #1 in hunters just a few years ago. The pressure factor sucks, but at least people are out enjoying the outdoors.
