Nope, definitely not on public. Would much rather have more deer in low population areas. Will probably kill one or two on some more heavily populated private though unless the winter was super hard on the herd.

Yes, most definetly will be harvesting does. I try for the old monarchs that are dried up or have no young. I stack my freezer full of meat to feed my family. But I do not harvest does when I'm hunting my buck beds. I target them specifically in known doe bedding where populations are high.

Yes, because I only put one deer in the freezer last season I plan on shooting a doe early season because that's probably when I am going to run out of veni - a doe fawn or maybe two if possible, they are the most tender :D

Only when I can be certain they aren't a button buck though.

Yes, especially down here. I am seeing a lot of tracks lately in the snow.

I hope so. I am still new to bow hunting and any deer right now will greatly increase my confidence. That said I do not plan on shooting any immature deer regardless of gender.

I hope I get a doe on public land up north or down here. I really hope I get one down here to break the ice. I have never shot a deer south of Waupaca co. I hope I at least get a doe this year down here. Last year was my first serious year huntign down here and was very disapointed how the season went. I did about 20 hunts down here in 2013 and saw only 3 deer. Early bow, muzzy and Dec. doe gun season. Everything went wrong last year. If I do shoot a doe I will be elated to go for big bucks only!! SOmething I never did .

I plan on taking a doe or two next year. I didn't take any this year and am very low on venison!

I may or may not take one. I hunt with a longbow and I feel as if it is more acceptable to take a mature public doe that way than with a gun, compound or a crossbow. If you are new to hunting by all means shoot whatever comes your way!
