Where would you set up for rut?

Unread postby checkerfred » Fri Jan 24, 2014 11:52 am

I'm gonna try this property tomorrow morning. Where would you setup for the best possible place? Wind will be N or NE then switch to W around mid day The blue dot is a shooting house watching that saddle....one of those two pink dots to the west around those saddles maybe?...that transition line where pines meets hardwoods up on the north line looks decent. Any of those jump out for an optimal position to catch cruising bucks (gun hunting)? Or anywhere else?

Also how would you access it? I'll have to park where I have pink circled.

Lower pink dot for me... Buckys pick looks good too, but I would be concerned with deer avoiding a known hunting spot ( shooter shack)

Will they tend to avoid the shooting house areas even if they aren't hunted much? There's one around that lower pink dot too
