Fun day still/stalk hunting
I got out of my stand around 11...i was half way up a valley... I had seen 3 does early and decided to do some scouting and Stalk hunting since the wind picked up.... I went up the steep ridge trying to be quite although not having much luck.... Got to the top and started following elevation..... I eventually jumped a deer.. It stopped but by the time I could get my scope up it ran off... I didn't see visible antlers but it happened so fast... If it was a buck it didn't look huge... So I keep walking slow and then I spot ears... I had stalked writing about 60-70 yards of her.. Been watching her for an hour or so now hoping a buck would come along. I learned several things today... I can get away with more noise than I thought on a windy day.. And I gained some confidence for when I find some buck beds and also in the Lee side of hills ... I also learned how predictable the wind can be way up high... Overall a fun day even if I didn't see a buck

Unfortunately I have to leave... It's cool knowing you got in that close and out undetected...It was fun watching her too. I just wished it was a huge mature buck lol.... She was about on the elevation of a buck bed

I was really shocked that I spotted her.... She stood out like a sore thumb though the way her head was turned

Cool.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
