New Ameristep Treestand

Unread postby mbucks27 » Thu Jan 16, 2014 6:04 am

Have any of you guys seen the new Ameristep Hyde treestand that will be coming out this year? Looks just like a lone wolf clone and was show at the 2014 ATA show. there are two models one with a padded backrest and one that is lighter and weighs 13 lbs. Here are is a link to the pics of the new stands. Still deciding on what stand to get but im still leaning towards and assault.

Looks nice and noisey. Look at the attachment for the main strap. Those clips are the worst. No different than a wal-mart special. Pretty soon they will have it in a Bone-Collector limited edition and it will be all the rage. Proudley manufactured in China.

Looks like they are pretty good at copying. If they don't copy the price they will sell a ton of them.

I believe that good climbing sticks are really were it's at though. Most manufactures don't have decent sticks!

Yea i noticed the attachment for the strap and it is the same one that i have on my cheap $35 stands. I know i will end up getting the assault but just trying to find one at a good price. Right now i have been using my hand climber but i hate having to find trees with no branches to climb up.

Should be a cast stand by xop before season

Ameristep is owned by the WGI/Busbices.

Definitely don't like the attachment method.

I'll give them credit, at least their trying, I would buy it before I'd buy that hack job lone wolf brought to the table this year. The lone wolf now did nothing but write a big check, it isn't like they did the engineering, they just took over a great company with awesome products and are slowly cheapening them up. I honestly want LW to see stiff competition , they are running away with their prices and not doing anything to step up their game.

I agree, competition tends to spur innovations .......hopefully within the next few years either Lone Wolf or a competitor will design something better.

A decent attempt but I see things I don't care for. Competition is good thing.

If the price is right it may be a good stand for leaving out in the woods for the whole season....you'd have the benefit of a quiet cast platform compared to a welded platform. For mobile though, still can't top the LW.
