Back in the winter of 96-97 when there were record snows the only way the deer were getting around up there was on roads and packed snowmobile trails. Sometimes the deer were running down the trails with nowhere to go when the sleds came down them. Friend of mine said a few jumped off the trail and completely disappeared in the deep snow! Tough country up there in the snowbelt.

To be honest not sure, got the pic from a friend I know it's average about knee to waist deep where I live...Up north where I hunt im sure its more than that ...
