I found this rub yesterday while taking a walk on my land.
A 20 ft tall aspen had fallen into one of my food plots this fall sometime and a buck made a rub on it.
It laying about 3ft off the ground being held up by the branches

Re: Interesting rub
That is cool.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Re: Interesting rub
I know one of the WKP guys uses horizontal rubbing posts, I would check out this vid. Interesting stuff.

That is an awesome video, I just hate vemieo. It takes forever to load on my computer.
I wonder if they use any scent to get them started or just hang them and let the deer do what the do.

Re: Interesting rub
I tried a few horizontal rubs this fall without any luck, like what Ted Miller does in the WKP videos. Not sure if it was due to location, a complete lack of mature bucks, me not knowing what I'm doing or all of the above. I may dabble in it again next season.

Love Ted Millers stuff. His footage is borderline unbelievable.

Re: Interesting rub
Does he say what type of tree to use?
I think that would matter a lot.
I know that I would try cedar or aspen.
Seems to be preferred in my area.
