Best Place for Aerials & Topos??

Unread postby slabbandit » Sat Dec 21, 2013 5:05 pm

Right now I use the free Google Earth but want to find where I can overlay topo over the satelitte imagery. Can this be done where I'm at now or do I need to subscribe to something better?

I am in northern canada and there are no good topos here so I called the closest business that does Lider topo fly overs for business(Vaultus) . I but the consumer level data points and the geo-referenced satellite hi res imagery. Then get a buddy to turn it into into a contour map with satellite photo... Or I can do it :)

I like MyTopo. Check out some of my recent posts/pictures in the Land Management section. $30.00 for a year subcription.

Use the United States Geological Survey (USGS) as all their newest maps have contours, overlaid on aerial photos. You can download them as PDFs for free or buy paper copies.

This works too

This is all I use now. Its has the topo maps overlaid with the aerial view. You can adjust it so it so the topi lines are more are less visible as well. Great scouting tool!
