Dropping antlers

Unread postby KIoutdoors » Sat Dec 21, 2013 7:48 am

I have seen more trail camera pictures and heard about bucks that have already shed here in Michigan. Just wondering if you guys have seen the same thing?

Yes. It is happening fast. One of my buddies accidentally shot a shed buck last night.

Haven't noticed anything here yet.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Going fast in northern WI.

Had a buddy drill a good one Wed afternoon that was still holding i the north woods. Was aged at 5.5 to 6.5. He was chasing him 3 years......could be older. Almost a match antler wise to a buck I shot 3-4 years back.

I went on my first shed walk today because of all the early shedding talk. No sheds found but I did see a crotch with only one side.

Found a nice 10 point set already but it was from a 3 or 4 year old buck with a hurt front leg I have been watching, so that's why he shed so early. He shed about two weeks ago.
