Dr. Ken Nordberg's Buck Hunting School DVD
Does anybody know anything about this DVD series? I am going to assume that it must be fairly thorough, being as it is 17hr 35min long. I am interested in buying it but it is $85.

I don't know anything about his series...but I can highly recommend Dan's videos if you don't own them already.
Dan's videos are packed with valuable information. You will want to watch them over and over, because myself and everyone I have let watch them, always say the pick up something new each time watching.
I live and hill the majority in Hill Country and that's my favorite video of his. However, I have utilized a lot of tactics and information from the Marsh video in areas I hunt out of state, that consist of large tract of crp fields with fingers of hardwoods coming out into the crp.

I have a few of them.....he is a smart guy...some great old school style tactics... the filming quality is marginal and the audio can be downright horrible.... tough watch even for a deer addict, but there is value in his tireless.... his books are okay as well

From what little (& I mean little) I have seen on Dr. Ken Nordberg and the lack of reviews (good or bad) on his series I would say that it could be good or it could be full of a lot of technical information that will be of little or no use to you. I also get the sense it is geared toward the private land manager, but I'm really not sure because I haven't seen it or heard anything about it. I think you would be a lot better off getting Dan's video's.
Getting the Marsh Bucks, Hill Country DVD's as well as the Nordberg series wouldn't be a bad idea, but if you don't check out the Marsh Bucks & Hill Country DVD's you will be doing yourself a disservice IMHO.

Definitely technical
Nothing to do with land management at all
Dans videos- WAY BETTER and the only videos to start out or in general

Heard some ok things about his stuff but like you wasn't sure about pulling the trigger for $85. If you don't have Dan's vids yet just get those, more than enough there to keep a guys busy for years.

Re: Dr. Ken Nordberg's Buck Hunting School DVD
I have both of Dan's DVDs and they are the best I have watched BAR-NONE. I have all three of John Eberhardt's DVDs too. I even even bought that Farmland bucks video from nexbuk before I new Dan had left that group. That video wasn't very good. Lesson learned from that experience is, NO Dan= NO good. I have only watched one episode of Extreme Whitetail Tactics, but I loved it. Dan is doing what we have all wanted to see for years. It's great seeing somebody shoot a big buck, but I would much rather see how they got to that point. It will be great when Dan can get the episodes out faster. I am sure that task would be a lot easier if none of us had to work day jobs.

Tough to beat Dan's DVDs
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

When it comes to videos, Dans are the best! When it comes to learning, spend the $85 on gas and attend one of his workshops in the spring. Plus you get to meet the BBSK, how cool is that?

I'd like to take your advice (I'm positive you're spot on) and hopefully will some day in the near future.
Unfortunately it will be a $1,000 weekend for me...
Flight, rental, hotel, food, plus the cost of the seminar.
I'll have to be extra good to the warden to let me take a trip like this

Re: Dr. Ken Nordberg's Buck Hunting School DVD
I am very interested in Nordbergs stuff and wouldn't mind checking it out. No doubt the guy knows his stuff about deer behavior. When I got really serious about big buck hunting I really studied his Whitetail Hunters Almanac's and learned a ton from them on mature buck behavior and stages of the rut.
One thing I will never do is keep my mind closed and only accept one way of doing things. There is some good stuff out there and I like to sift thru it and blend it with other tactics.

I didn't know he had a video series, I read his entire series back in the 90's. Good stuff in general back then, I only gun hunted on the ground back then, seen a good amount of deer in the big woods north of antigo back then. Dan's stuff is awesome. Like so many have said, you take some things and add more to it.

Come on Ed, I drive out to Kansas and back cheaper then that. Pitch a cot in carols coon crib. I'll bring some donuts, your good to go. Lol I stayed at a hotel just over the Wisconsin border and it was real nice and like $48. Think it ended up being about 30min from Dans.

From what I am hearing around the interweb is that that is the key to his books and dvd series. I guess his information is especially useful to guys that hunt the upper midwest, which makes sense with him coming from MN(where I am from). He actually only lives about 35 miles away from me.
I would like to thank all of you for your opinions and help. Of course most of you have talked me out of buying an $85 DVD set and instead have me thinking about spending 2-300 dollars to spend the weekend learning from the big buck serial killer.
It's not the knowing that's difficult, but the doing.
