New here and Fired Up!
I'll back up a little bit here. I was on AT last week and usually read posts related to buck hunting methods, questions, bedding, etc.
I can't remember the exact topic, but someone referred a poster to visit a site called hunting beast to get more knowledge on a subject. Well i took advantage of the link and decided to pay a visit.
Wow! I find a bunch of folks that dig to a deeper level on hunting mature bucks. So i start reading all the posts that interest me and end up going over 15 pages back. By this time i realize i have a new place to spend time learning.
Background:
I began bowhunting in 1988. Been hooked every since. Had years where life had me in other directions, but the passion was embedded the very first year i bow hunted. Always been fascinated with bucks. As the years and memories grew i found out there were a lot of things that i suspected about mature bucks that were real. Never was able to seal the deal on a mature buck for most of those years, but i hunted quite a bit through college and off and on after that; and then i quit for a while due to life issues.
Fast forward to the last 5 years:
Dad and i moved to the other side of the state on Stockton Lake. Always been best friends, roommates off and on, business partners, and both enjoy fishing and hunting. Couldn't ask for a better place for us to live. It was long overdue to re-ignite the flame for chasing big bunnies. Got a small piece of ground over by the Kansas border in barton county three years ago and manage it for deer. That has been a wonderful experience. But what i have here at the lake i have totally taken for granted. What an opportunity to get into hunting stud deer. I'm more fired up to learn these areas than ever before.
Although i haven't purchased any dvds yet, from what i'm gathering from this site it appears the tactics discussed here are a good fit for the public ground here. I have to be low impact at our property (80 acres); and don't want to burn it up, but i got enough public ground at the lake here to start collecting my spots.
I'm amazed at the level of accuracy some of you are able to pinpoint buck bedding areas. Some of this stuff i never thought about. Hoping to learn much from you guys and plan to stick around.
Sincerely,
Chris

Welcome to the Beast. Home of an accumulation of great hunters willing to share great information.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

I found this site almost two years ago. TOTALLY changes your mindset in the woods. Takes hunting to a whole new level. It's not just a couple months out of the year thing, it makes it a year round passion that everyone else on here shares.

Welcome to the Beast Chris! Can't wait to see how you improve your skills. Are you in Kansas or a neighboring state?
BTW, you will really like the video's.

You cannot invade mainland America. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.
