I sat 2 different sets on multiple days. I was seeing so many bucks I would of been crazy to let that go. Third day it got slow so I pulled out of there. Seen 2 of my biggest bucks this year on the 2nd or 3rd day in the same tree.

I've hunted the same stand a few times this year (with the right wind) and have seen deer walk right under my tree. I haven't seen the big boys on camera yet but then again the camera isn't near the spot that I shoot deer every year. During gun-season for whatever reason the stand that I hunt over-looks a thick area next to a bowl of willows and marsh grass. It's a transition zone on a ridge that when deer are pressured cruise through all of the time. Since I've been 13 years old, I'm 26 now I have noticed the biggest deer I've ever seen use this area during gun-season when the pressure picks up. I will hunt this area when the "time" is right. I don't look at how many times I've hunted the stand per year.

During the rut I definetly do... it is all about access

Very rare that I do this. We seldom get the same wind from day to day around here. When the wind switches so do I.

In the right conditions I'll hunt the same stand every day.

I'll hunt the same stand as long as I see deer..if I don't see anything the first time I don't hunt it the next day and maybe never again.

My archery buck this year was second sit.

Killed several others on 2nd, 3rd, 4th sits during rut.

But vast majority I have taken on 1st sit. But keep in mind I make a point to sit fresh trees most frequently...

This is absolutely area and stage of rut dependent. The big buck I messed up on the 19th was on 3rd time I hunted the tree and about the 12th time in that woods for the month of November.

Ground scent isn't as big of an issue, but should be managed as well a possible via access when hunting rut patterns. Bedrooms are a whole different story.

I could go hunt dozens of different areas in November, but if the caliber of buck I'm after isn't there it doesn't make a lot of sense.

How in the world do you KNOW where a buck is in Nov? :)

That's the least likely time to pattern one I can think of.

Just curious.

What I was getting at was the fact that I have a lot of different options for where to hunt. Most of them don't hold big bucks consistently. I have a select few that do-those are the areas I want to be hunting hard come November.

When I'm hunting during the rut I'm hunting cruising trails. I have no problems hunting the same stand back to back then although I didn't do it this year. Many years I have though.

If I have the right wind along with proper entry and exit routs that will make it unlikely the deer will come across my scent trail then I will hunt the same stand back to back for days at a time during the rut in a good funnel. I had three different shooter bucks within 15 yards on four occasions doing this 7 out of 8 days last year. This also includes the one in my avatar which I also had at a little over 20 yards 5 days after blowing my opportunity on him.
