Just last week I drew back 3 times on a 180 class buck while on the ground. He never did bust me as I was sitting behind an old allis chalmers tractor. I believe many times a ground blind makes more sense than trees.

After my super close ground encounters last year I believe this season was going to be the one I would kill a buck from the ground. Ended up filling my tag and killing one from 5ft off the ground in my LW on opening day so I never got to find out. Does that count?

This spot I call the eagles nest... The first year I hunted it was my first attempt with a bow, I shot an 8 point that I couldn't find after 2 days searching... Then the following year redeemed myself with a big 6 point with my new bow and setup that fit me....

I plan on doing a write up on this spot after season is over when I get time...

6 bucks off the ground, the biggest was mid to low 140 but have had many close calls with bigger. its a tough game getting a big boy in range, then you have to draw without being picked off.

Snuck up to a 2-3 year old 115" 8pt feeding in a slashing on a rainy night and got an arrow into him at 17 yards. It was a fun getting that close on a sneak. Big bodied deer, that's why I wondered if he was 2.5 or 3.5.

The 130-140" 8pt I was after slipped out of the slashing at sometime during the sneak.

I am quite surprised this many people have killed a buck with a bow from the ground. I'm going to try and kill a doe yet this year with my new ghillie suit I just ordered, and maybe even get it on camera, we shall see.

I have shot dozens (some bucks)of deer off the ground late season with soft 2 and 3 man pushes. I have taken a few spot and stalk with the compound and my very first deer was wily 6 pt I took with my recurve from the ground.
