I'll be hopping into a big secluded doe thicket a 3rd of the way down an East facing hillside not to mention 100 yards South from a picture perfect rugged, hard to access point in an S bend that runs North. The wind for Friday is SE at 6mph and Saturday is E at 3mph. I'm anticipating the doe to come funneling back to their beds (hopefully with buck in tow) from 3 surrounding fields, each about a half mile away. I'm also anticipating the doe to bed just below me to the SW.
With the light winds do I set up on the leeward or windward side of the trail? I'm assuming the windward so I can play the morning thermals? It's going to be a tricky spot but it's the last two days of the season here in PA so I'm going to be aggressive. I have very nice quiet access to jump into the thick.
Which side of trail?
