Dewey does the hood get in your way what drawing on a deer
here is a video that he made and put on youtube, basically just giving some pointers on how to hunt from the ground.....He makes it sound like he just sits in one place waiting to ambush the deer when they come through....

Some good tips. I agree that he focuses on a particular "stand". In other articles he talks more about stalking. I like what he is doing and it makes sense for a few places I hunt.

I hunted from the ground in my ghilie suit last night. I had a 2.5 year old and some fawns out in a cut field. I was in a fenceline and the never noticed me. They were about sixty yards away and my scent wasn't blowing toward them. We had wind gust probably close to 40 mph. I got to thinking the wind was covering both my movement and any noise I might make. Thought about putting a stalk on them right throught the recently combined corn. But didn't think I could pull it off. Looking back I wish I would have. Not that I had any intentions of shooting them.

I'd be all over one of these ghillie suits if I didn't have to wear a bag tag. Takes the stealth out of it. Stupid WI regs.
