Buck Roar
Yesterday morning I got to hear a buck roar/growl as he chased a doe. The doe was blowing every 2 seconds as she was running and the buck was letting out a roar every 5 seconds or so and it was so load I didn't even know it was possible for a buck to make a noise that load! I herd them between 7:30 and 8:30 like 5 or 6 different times as they came and went. Sent chills down my spine when I realized what I was hearing. Within the first 5 minutes of hearing it there were two other bucks that came in to check out all the noise. This is one of the craziest experiences I've ever had in the woods and feel very lucky to have witnessed this. Has anyone else ever herd a buck make this noise?

Re: Buck Roar
Heard it last year. Buck chasing a doe up a hill roared all the way, I nearly shat myself. Didnt see the buck though.
If it bleeds, we can kill it . . . .

Yes . Twice , the first time was a nice three yr old buck chasing a doe and trying to fend off a young buck that tried to cut in. I heard it again just this past Thursday just before light . Sounded more like a growling but heard the deer crashing around the thicket .

Don't believe I've ever heard it, sounds like an awesome experience! Cool encounters like that are one of the many reasons we get up at crazy hours to hunt!

Re: Buck Roar
I have never heard a living buck do it but I have heard them growl/roar when I shot them. I had very good success using the buck growl by MAD calls a few years ago. I have not tried it in a few years though.

Once you hear a buck "roar" you'll never forget it. It's crazy loud and literally sounds like a dinosaur coming thru the timber.

Re: Buck Roar
Heard it last Wednesday. Sounded like the biggest, baddest deer in the woods, but it was only a 2.5 year old. If I hadn't seen the deer myself, I wouldn't have believed it.
