I went to an area today about an hour from my house that I've been cyber scouting. I setup downwind of assumed doe bedding this morning, also a nice little funnel. I saw a spike at 7am and sat all day. Didnt see another deer until 4 when a doe and the biggest buck I've ever seen while on stand stepped out at 40 yards where I had no shot. He was dogging her and wouldnt leave her alone. 30 min later 2 other doe came in. He didnt bother them at all. Stayed on her. I watched them for an hour with no shot opportunity. so is it safe to assume she was in heat? I had no intentions of hunting here again tomorrow as I was headed to another area and tomorrow is my last day to hunt the PA bow season.. Should I come hunt this area again in hopes of him showing again or will he be long gone? If she was in heat is there chance more bucks will be on her trail still in the morning? Or should I accept defeat and move to this other area closer to home? What would you experinced guys do? Alot of scrapes and small rubs where i was and he made a couple more while I watched him tonight. Thnx ahead of time

If I had a hot doe around I would stay as long as she did.

I would move to a tree where you can shoot where you saw him and camp there all day.

X2!! I usually make a mental note of where a tree I "could have" killed from when this occurs. I always return early early the next day to assure quiet and careful entry and setup...and like Dan said, I would be the all day!
Good luck!!!

I would be back there before daylight tomorrow prepared to sit all day. Those other does could be ready to pop also.
