SPLIT BROW 10 POINT NEW PHOTOS
This is the same buck I posted as the split brow 10 point, I just noticed on a recent picture that BOTH brow tines are split He only seems to be in my area at around between midnight and 1:30 A.M. How far do you think he could be traveling from? I live in the farm country of west central WI with all kinds of great looking crops and lots of hills and valley's loaded with mature hardwoods and some that was logged a couple years ago. Great BIG buck bedding areas everywhere you look. I only own 15 acres but can hunt anouther 80 to 100 acres that adjoin my land. I have been shining the are with no success on finding where he is coming from. I was just curious on how far people would guess a buck like this one would travel to get to my area. Here is the latest photos;

Dandy buck I would guess hes very close to your 15 acres .As hot and humid as its been cant see a deer needing or wanting to travel more than 40 to 200 acres in any direction,depending on size of ag fields.Mid to end of august or when weather cools some will give you a better scope of bucks you may see during early season.

He sure is nice.
A buck will see you three times, and hear you twice, but he's only gonna smell you once.

At this time of the year bucks are not traveling very far, I would be surprised if he is bedding more than 1/4 mile (most likely less than) from the area you got the pix.

I've had photos from the past where the deer in velvet are coming by the trail cameras in the middle of the night and they've been close during season...I'd be more curious as to if he re-locates after the velvet is shed. He's probably living close at the moment though.

I would bet that he is very close to your property I don't think he is going to be traveling to far. He seems to be a mature buck with a limited home range. Is there any water on your property that maybe attracting him?

I just put a 35 gallon water tank out 3 days ago. I always wanted to put out a water source, i just got more motivated with the pictures I have been getting. I hope he can find that water is real close by, and he will hang around now!! Since I am really starting to get the information I get on THE BEAST to sink in , I have shifted gears the last couple years to be more mobile. Now I just have to figure out where he is coming from, and try to set up on him as early as I can when the conditions are right.

He aint far away! This time of the year they are homebodies! In that kind of country too I've found that there home area isnt as big as you think, especially mature deer! There more concerned with survival and breeding the does in their core area. Farm country with smaller woods, private land with a number of mature deer if he does stray too far, he will run into another rival buck.. Big woods bucks have much bigger home areas and are more nomadic. You may get onto him early in the season or else the end of Oct. Good Luck!

If you're getting him on camera 5 nights a week or better he is probably within that 1/4 mile range. If he's spotty, like once a week or less he's at least 1/2 mile away and could be more. Big bucks will range at any time of year. I see it all the time in summer, big buck in a field once maybe twice and never again.

1st of all what a stud!! 2nd of all, what a great IR picture from that Predator!!
How far Is he coming from? Tough to say but It seems to me these big guys aren't afraid to show their faces this time of year. Something tells me he could be coming from farther away being It's that late. Are all the pics of him you've gotten here going the same direction?

Pedator cameras are the best I have owned!! I only used cuddeback before, but I could never depend on them. I've had 5 cuddeback and they all quit working properly. Cuddeback had great trigger speed and took great pictures, I just wanted a camera I could count on.
Yes he is coming from the same direction!! Only problem is there is lots and lots of great crops, hills, and valley's all around me so I don't know where he is coming from or where he is going (I don't have permission to get on some of the land that he may be living on) I will do my best at trying to keep close tabs on him for sure.
