A little dad and daughter project
I have an all black arrow that I can see well up until the last 20 minutes of light. I realized I needed to correct that problem so my daughter and I hatched a plan. We did our first arrow together tonight and she came up with the idea to paint the edges of the feathers with flourescent yellow paint. COOL! She even signed her name next to the nock with some permanent silver marker. It will be the first arrow I use to kill a deer with my recurve. She said she felt the arrow was a little sloppy and could do better the next time but I am pumped for how well it looks. We will do a couple of more here in the next few days.

Re: A little dad and daughter project
Thanks Sam. She is my oldest kid at 7 and I just love her to death. She is a cutey but continually asks when she can go deer hunting with me. My wife just shakes her head. I tell her that it is her life and if she chooses to go bowhunting with me one day, that it is her choice as long as she is safe. I am not pushing her but she expresses way more desire to hunt than even my six year old son. I took her by a game check station two years ago and she walked right up to a man and asked him if she could touch his dead deer! My son wanted nothing to do with it...lol.

That is great that you can get her envolved at a young age!! Building a great friendship and creating memories with your children (boy or girl) is the #1 thing in life to do in my book!!!!!!!

Re: A little dad and daughter project
Love the arrows!!!! I have two daughters, 9 & 5 and the always ask me, "Dad, when can I go elk hunting in Colorado with you"? How cool is that? My wife wants nothing to do with hunting but my girls love the fact of going with dad. I am going to setup my ground blind behind my mothers house this fall and we will see if we can get a doe on film together.
My daughters always make me something to bring me luck in Colorado. It always works, but sometimes dad here gets to jacked up and blows the shot.
I would love to see my girls shoot bigger bucks than I have ever seen. I think I would get more of a kick out of that than if I killed them.

Re: A little dad and daughter project
Thanks guys. I will use that exact arrow to kill my first deer with a recurve. I hope it is a big boy! I bought some thicker yellow pain and some brushes. My kids now want to paint up some of their arrows and feathers. My two oldest both have small recurves that pull like 12 pounds. They are pretty good little shots from 5 yards on in!
