Just because the Federal Government is shut down doesn't mean the state game wardens won't be waiting at your vehicle when you get out of the refuge. They know the rules and can enforce them.

I am out of a hunting place to until this issue is resolved too. I am not willing to take the chance to poach a buck or get a poaching charge while on government land. That would most certain mean privileges removed from ever hunting my spot again. I will wait.
I'm reason they call it hunting and not shooting.

Yeah you don't want to mess around and push your luck on federal land. They tend to be very strict about their rules and will nail you good. Wouldn't want to be in your shoes if you got caught!!

Re: Govt Shutdown, Shuts Down My Deer Hunting
If the only land some you guys know is Federal property, I would write my state representative or local congressman and complain. State the facts to why this is a huge discomfort to your quality of life, taking food off your families table, etc, etc. I think this is a bunch of BS and should be fixed immediately. The more people that make a fuss about this the faster they will do something. I know that half of the land that has recently been closed has probably never even had a wardens boot track on or any other department personnel. A lot of those federal lands don't even have management plans in effect anymore. So how can they close something that was never really patrolled anyway? Teddy Roosevelt is turning in his grave right now!!

This is the truth! Do something about it if you don't like it!
A start could be dropping a giant bubble over Capitol Hill and permanently forgetting about everyone inside...let them kill each other off in the name of whatever they pretend to believe in...just me thinking out loud too

It's not real good timing with the youth hunt in WI this weekend. Hope they have it settled by then.

And who's does this land belong too?........We the people, the federal goverment is just the caretaker. And should be replaced if they don't do the job that they were hired to do.
This shutdown won't last long. If it goes on for to long, We the people, will realize that we really don't need the federal goverment as it exist today. And we will replace those in power, not a good strategy.

I just don't seem to understand how this can even be illegal? Can they really charge you with trespassing or hunting on public ground? Makes zero sense, might be worth a call to the game warden to ask. We all own the land, not some feds in a building.

And that is what bothers me. I pay taxes. You pay taxes.
We paid for this land, and other public lands/parks.
I didn't shut down my taxable income on my last paycheck, because I couldn't pay taxes any longer. I don't have a choice. I HAVE to pay taxes.
And with that said.....these lands HAVE to remain open. Its simple!
