velvet ?

Unread postby tim » Mon Aug 02, 2010 8:38 am

so i have captured something i have never seen on camera and was wondering if anyone alse has ever seen this. i have been getting pics of a buck all summer with pink streaking throughout tines/beams. almost as if there is no pigment in those parts of the velvet, at first i thought is was an injury or it got scraped off, but it has continued all throughout the rack throughout the growth . this buck also has 2 little streaks of white hair on his but. so my son named him whitey. the coloration is definately odd i have went back through all my photos and cannot find anything like it. let me know if any of you have ever seen this. thanks. tim

I have some albino bucks on film with pink velvet and some white phase deer with dark velvet. What your describing sounds like piebald to me.
