Need new idea for packing in gear
Its getting, quite sickening. Reducing the amount is really not an option. I have my backpack with my Muddy camera arm, any extra clothes, rangefinder, release, water, and knife on my back. I will have my stand and sticks over right shoulder. Camera and mics over left shoulder, bow switches off between hands while walking. Very hard to balance and stay quiet and somewhat comfortable walking and sneaking to my tree. I need a new approach. Solo hunting is becoming ridicolous. Anyone have a solution to create less bulk or a more efficient approach?

Re: Need new idea for packing in gear
It is all in your pack. Look at Eblerstock X2... it has light weight frame with compartments for arm and gear. Then I just tied in wolf to back of pack. I might let u borrow mine for a hunt or two if u want....

Bucky, checked it out. Looks cool. How do you attatch the stand? BH, not filming isnt and not getting good footage isnt an option for me. My camera is as important as my bow.

I love the film I get but when I carry my alpha, beast arm and 4 sticks your talking 30 lbs plus. I might have to go to an assault or start leaving the camera arm home.

You and I might have a different opinion on what good quality footage is.

Re: Need new idea for packing in gear
Have to find a way to simplify, I think Dan uses more pockets and doesn't carry a backpack.
I don't film but was getting tired of hauling a lot of extra junk with me, forced myself to only take a fanny pack this year and I am liking what I am seeing so far. Use to bring so much junk I really didn't need. Yes it was nice to have a few backups and extras in the bag but I really didn't need them. Now all that stuff stays in the truck and if I really need it bad I have to walk to get it.

Yup, that's tough. This is the reason I switched to the Treesaddle; It's so much more streamlined IMO.

Czabs sounds like you are packing some high quality gear that might be a little larger than most. Not sure you will find an easier way. If it was me I might try and lay my sticks flat or see if I could find another way to strap them on, then tie your pack to the stand so you can get everything on your back at once.

I use Dan's camera arm. I strap my extra clothes, backpack and arm to the stand. How large a camera are you using?
