Lone Wolf Batwing or offset bracket?

Unread postby jonsimoneau » Mon Sep 09, 2013 2:25 am

I noticed guys talking about this in another thread. Can anyone explain to me what this is and how it works? My old assault stand does not have this that I am aware of. Is this an accessory that can be bought?

Ok, scratch that. I just looked it up on Lone Wolfs site. I'm wondering if my stand came with it, but I either took it off or did not put it on in the first place. When I first got the stand I intended to use the hook hanging system. Now I want the batwing! Might have to order another one.

Comes not attached... It will make your stand a lot better. I would get another one.

My older alpha did not come with the batwing, I added it prior to last season and absolutely loved it. Prior to the batwing the stand had a V bracket

Thanks guys. It turns out I had it but never put it on. My buddy who I used to live with found it in his garage. I'll be putting that puppy on ASAP.

I don't. After watching Dan's video on stand set up I started using that technique. It's a whole lot easier than 2 straps and the stand doesn't
budge once it's cam locked..Works awesome.

The stand was originally designed with one strap... The second strap was only added to help sell it to people whom had kick out issues with other stands... Andrae coined it "the outfitter strap" cause outfitters liked to strap bottom and top and leave the stand in one position.
Andrae don't even use it, and he designed it.

If you are one of those worry warts whom insists on using it, one word of caution. CAM locking the lower strap can do damage to your stand and be un-safe... Put it on after cam locking

Thinking of doing the same- how far down did you drill and mount it?

I would assume they would send instructions with... If your using a V bracket stand, putting it in about the same spot as the "V" bracket should be good... With certain models you may have to cut off the "V" on the back of the seat for clearance... We did that a lot in the old days.

I used the existing hole, and then hack sawed off a few teeth from the V portion on the back of the seat.
