Buck observation tonight!

Unread postby scooters » Wed Sep 04, 2013 3:24 pm

I watched something cool tonight in a field behind my house. I watch 3 bucks work a field edge along the woods. All three followed each other hitting scrapes, rubs and licking branches. I wish I had a spotting scope but only had bino. One looked like a shooter but light was fading quickly for being around 8 pm. Do you guys know what this means? Two weeks until opener:)

Sounds like game on and they are starting to sort out the pecking order! I'm sure that bachelor group will be splitting up very soon!!

It means we had a good cold front - makes the bucks know its getting to be that time of year. I had a lot of activity just this past weekend when I pulled cards from trail cameras on monday.

This was from monday morning...2 year old buck hazing does ;)

Saw a few scrapes opened up too.

:handgestures-thumbup:
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
