I was putting a few pics together for a future article. Def. picking up a lot of new thought here and looking forward to putting it into play.
I made a trip back home last Christmas and swung by a few place - no place like home.
Here are a few interesting pics. If you knelt down in the center you can see all these rubs in one sweep. The neat thing about it is that this area has been used year after year since I found it nearly 20 years ago. As the trees have grown it' getting more open understory, The horns are about 15 years old and I have found several more through the years, to many years apart to be the same buck, but yet they are all nearly identical.
I found a small shed while taking pics. I laid it and my hat next to them for size detail.

The horns above were found 2 years apart but were fresh.
Last year here in N. Fl. I have found a similar situation. The buck is leaving the beddin are and walking down a corridor of about 18" of water. I am standing in the water when I took the pic so the rub is actually taller then it looks. It's not super huge but its the biggest I have found so far. It's a limited access and you cant even set foot on the place to scout/hunt but a few weeks a year. I spent most of my time last year scouting, hoping I might find something for this year. After watching marsh bucks I think I'll make this an evening hunt and set on the ground about 80-100 yards away from where he was bedding. All I can do is listen n try to learn.
This is the Fl. rub (my cap next to it) There were quite a few and all facing a travel corridor that led to a big field around a mile away. It's the only grass around, everything else is pine n swamp.
I may have a video of the area surrounding the rubs as well.

Thanks for sharing the pics.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Now that you have found this site I see very good things in your future.
You cannot invade mainland America. There would be a rifle behind every blade of grass.
