I have considered that but never hunted the Metro Units. Should probably do some research on public land there for the future.

Went out last night with the bow for the first time in a month. Saw 7 including one buck, couldn't really tell how big he was because it was starting to get a bit dim and he was 100 yards away. It didn't take me 5 minutes to miss having my muzzleloader in my hands but that tags been filled.

I still want to see if I can somehow get within bow range of something worth shooting in the next week before bow season closes here in Iowa.....or maybe just how many fingers and toes I will loose to frostbite in the process, supposed to be -30 here next week

Going out tonight with the bow. 8 degrees right now. Tomorrow is our muzzleloader season (4days). Supposed to be in the negatives the next few days. Hopefully I can fill a tag!

I was going to go out tonight but I just don't have the drive anymore. Bring on scouting. I'm making 2014 a yr to remember. 8-)

Thought my season was done. At 1:30 P.M. my boss called and said plans changed and I don't have to work tonight. On my way in for one more sit trying to kill a doe with my recurve!

What a welcome surprise!!

This is probably my last sit of the season. Fresh tracks ahead, and bedding to the left and right.

Good luck to Dewey!

This is my last sit for the year. The perfect tree was right where I need to be.

Lot's of sign and bedding is straight ahead of me and crop land behind me with some corn still standing.

I am happy just to be on stand one last time. If I see a deer it will be a bonus!

Good luck to you too Neil and anybody else still hunting! 8-)

Unbelievable!! Just had a 135"-140" 10 Pt in front of me!! He skirted around me and eventually got downwind and caught my scent. Got some video but not sure how good it will be with my phone.

Great way to end the season!!

I was hunting does but still in the vicinity of a buck bed I scouted last winter. The buck came directly from that bed. This was unbelievable because I wasn't supposed to be hunting today. Goes to show a guy should never give up. It's not over till it's over. If I still had a buck tag I would have had an excellent chance of killing a great buck on the last day. How sweet that would have been!! I ended my season exactly like I started it on opening day with a perfect Beast Style hunt! That is very satisfying for me! 8-)
