Northern WI bigwoods is minor compared to parts of Canada as Spy mentioned. But the vast woods of Northern Alberta can't hold many or any deer?
I've bear hunted north of Ft Mac and saw zero deer sign. This was in the mid 90's and the boom was going, just not as strong as now. Maybe more exploratory roads cut in make for better deer habit?
You're living in God's country....great area for hunting and fishing....if I could only convince the wife.....
