It pays to respect those critters.

Their license is $300 for the season and includes 6 deer tags, 2 turkey, and a bear. This is gun, muzzleloader, and bow. It's $150 for the 5 day and you get 3 deer tags with that one. No draw, over the counter or online.

Looks like an old River oxbow There are giants living in areas like that! Your pics definitely back it up too
Those thick flat bottom areas near the river have always been a tough habitat for me to hunt. I need to scout areas like that more because I know I will get it figured out with time and boots on the ground.
Good luck this year and take some pictures of what the brush looks like inside that place. Just curious if it's similar to what I have to hunt up here.

Hmmm.... lets see, plenty of poisonous snakes, spiders and who knows what else + army tent? Can you say wuuuussy? I think I would rather sleep somewhere a little more contained/secure. Plus there is just no way I can swing it financially this year. Seems like for every dollar that comes in this year at least two go out. Lots of unexpected bills. Can't spend what isn't there.

There is twice the amount of snakes/gators/bugs where I hunt and half the bone.

You stay in the woods in a tent?

No camping areas behind the gate, nothing but hunting. If you stayed the night it would have to be in a vehicle. Private land outside the gate. It is about 20 minutes or so from Dardnelle little further to Russelville.
I'm reason they call it hunting and not shooting.

Many times I have. Luckily I have a pop up camper now, getting flooded out of the tent is no fun...
