I use Magnus buzzcuts. And the back edge is sharpened to cut as the arrow is coming out. Great warranty. Wait a warranty you may ask with broad heads. Yes that's correct. I've broken blades, bent ferrules, and just plain dulled the heck out of them. Send what's left of them in and in a short time. New broadheads magically show up in the mail.

Fixed blades for deer and such. I value the penetration on tough shot angles.

For turkeys I will only shoot large expandable after a lot of bad experiences with smaller heads of all kinds. Punch a 3" hole through the body of a turkey and there are no worries about recovery!

I should expound.

I shot Wasp Jakhammers and still have a few around. They never did me wrong, moved to fixed for economy. Plus, seems I had to go on-line to order replacement blades for the Jaks. The local stores only carried the most recent "Rage". ;)

I shoot both out of all my bows, just got done broad head tuning the newest addition a Hoyt Spyder. Shooting field tips, Snuffer SS, and Rage two blades to same POI out to 80 yards. I really don't get the people that jump on the expandables are unreliable bandwagon. You must not shoot a compound bow, or drop away rest, or use a tree stand or climbing sticks then either. All these things are mechanical and can fail.

Fixed blades... Slick Tricks to be exact. I try to take as many of the "ifs" out of the equation as possible, and blades opening is an "if" in my mind. Heard too many horror stories of blades not opening...

Slick tricks. They've never done me wrong. I've seen all but one deer drop dead while i was in the tree after I shot them.

this sounds like a silly question maybe for all those non mechanical broadhead shooters that dont want to shoot em cause theres too much that can fail because they are mechanical. do you also use a fixed arrow rest or are you using a drop away? or a long bow as opposed to a compound bow? i never blame the broadhead when i make a poor shot i blame the shooter(me). if we make good shots they will both do the job.

Neither. Solid 2 blades or 3 blade heads.
