Lonewolf assault vs. alpha

Unread postby admiral04 » Sun Jul 14, 2013 2:20 am

Im not familiar with either but would like to get one soon for mobility. Climber is just too noisy and heavy and doesnt go where I need it too. What are your opinions, pros and cons of each. Just want to make sure I get the right one. I have also heard good things about the muddy bloodsport and stix. Comments on this compared to either of the lonewolfs would be great. Ive always used cheap hang-ons which are not mobile at all imo, and a summit climber. Time to change it up now that im attempting to hunt beds. Thnx

If u don't need the extra room, get the assualt. No other stand comes close to the lone wolfs period.

I can't speak for the alpha as I have never used it, but I have used both the Assault and the Assassin for several years and have really not had any issues with them being too small (I'm about 6'0 180).

I have both the Alpha and Assault and honestly I rarely use my Assault anymore. The weight difference is really not even noticable to me and I really appreciate having the larger platform and seat on my Alpha. I find it to be more comfortable especially for longer sits.

I pretty much use the Treesaddle now. However, I own both the Alpha and the Assault. I preferred to use the Alpha over the Assault....The weight difference wasn't that big of a deal and I enjoyed the platform room.

I have the alpha and love it. I had a muddy hunter and 4 sticks and they are nothing but noise making junk in my opinion. They basically copied LW designs but forgot to add the silence and quality.

LOL. I had the same impression from the Muddy stands. Nothing like the LW's in my opinion.

LW is tough to beat.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Alpha all the way. I have a few "old style" lone wolfs that work as assaults. I use the alpha almost exclusively these days and plan to pick up another set for the occasions when I leave the alpha in the sky.

I have a Alpha and it is my main stand. I have never used an Assault. I don't need two LW's, as I don't mind the weight and I won't leave them hang.

I do have two ladder stands, two hang on's with T-bar steps that were "donated" by trespassers. I use them on my farm, along with a Guerrilla hang on I picked up cheap after season one year. The Guerrilla has a mesh net seat which I really like, but it is a HEAVY bulky stand.
