Went out one time so far this summer about two weeks ago. Seen quite a few deer but only one decent buck. Would like to get out again soon.

It's never too late to start shining unless it's after hours;) I've been at it a few times as of last week - finally bought new light. My old one was a 15 Million CP yellow monster and was a huge dissapointment :( First it never seemed as bright as the CP suggested, second, the battery burned out after several uses, and third, it was heavy and had too many components with the stand that comes with it - hard to keep from getting lost.

At any rate, haven't seen too many big boys in the dark, but scouted several good ones in the light of day - that's a good sign.

I have went out pleasure shining in some of the known big buck counties. The property I hunt is in part high standing corn and freshly cut straw fields. I am hoping they will put second crop beans in where the straw was for some late August shining and will also be nice for the early season.

There is no time limit in Wisconsin until September.

I have been shining at night and in the early morning hours and really there ain't much to look at where I can hunt around home. Been watching 3 bucks... Been looking for the white one. Have not seen him yet.

Have you checked out the area I told you that one was hanging out last year?

No need to shine for me, I've been seeing some big bucks during broad daylight. Last Saturday I saw to big guys feeding in a soybean field right by a busy highway at 4:00 in the afternoon. About 3 weeks ago I left work because it was raining out at 2:30 in the afternoon and about 50 yards off the road was a GIANT buck with to many points to count standing in the soybeans. Talk about ripping your hair out!

I've been taking 94 west out to Dousman everyday and most mornings after all these thunderstorms there are some pretty nice bucks out feeding in the fields in daylight. Kind of sucks that you can't pull over to watch them. My only hunch with all the deer out so early is that the mosquitos are so rediculious that the deer just can't take it.
