Indiana had a record whitetail harvest in 2012 of over 136,000 deer. Of this harvest a whopping 6% were taken with crossbows which were legal throughout the whole archery season for the first time. Regular archery harvest was over 20% of the total.

No surprise to me.
We have had Full crossbow inclusion since the 80"s in Ohio. I used to be vehemently against it till I realized I was just being selfish and judgmental.
I wanted more deer to myself! LOL

Thanks for the information.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

I dont have the stats, but a sport shop owner told me that the majority of the crossbow licenses sold were to either "older" bowhunters or young hunters who couldnt draw 35lbs yet to be able to bowhunt.

Looks like all the crossbowers didn't infiltrate every woods and kill all the deer after all. At least that's what all the naysayers were complaining about. But they are going to get their way with the new proposed archery season starting September 15, but crossbows aren't allowed until October 1.
