This past wknd at the scouting workshop with dan we were shown exactly what this meant. The setups visualized on the site and in the videos dont truly express what dan means by pushing envelope. After seeing dans setups in person you realize how close you can really get to a mature buck when hunting a spot at that key moment of the correct wind, season, moon phase, etc. not to mention the stealth recquired to setup when you finally do have all the right things in play. Im curious, is it possible to get this clise when hunting hill country or do setups typically tend to be a little further back due to lack of cover etc?

Re: Pushing the envelope
It is harder in hill country a lot of the time... Crunchy leaves, and open timber are the usual killers of getting close in hill country. I use terrain, like the edges of the hill the buck is bedded on, and thick cover to get as close as possible... Often I am 100 to 200 yards away from beds in hill country or open woods.
