Hunting Celebrity Encounter

Unread postby woody-san » Tue Mar 12, 2013 4:58 am

On Friday, I attended the Bowhunting Super Show in Cleveland, OH and I was able to meet Fred Eichler. I've always been a big fan of his because A) he's an awesome bow hunter, B) he does both compound and traditional, and C) he seems to be a great guy with a great sense of humor. Well, all of my pre-concieved notions were fulfilled, he is an awesome dude and talked to me for 5-10 minutes about transitioning from a compound to a recurve.

I also got to meet Todd from White Knuckle Productions. Also a great dude! I got to speak with him for a few minutes and he's the same guy you see in the WKP DVD's.

This is the first of these kind of shows I've gone to. Luckily for me it was right after it opened on Friday and the crowd was pretty small...not sure I would have had the opportunity to talk to these guys at length, otherwise.

Cool.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

I dont watch many hunting shows, but I have seen Fred's and he seems to have a lot of fun. Glad your encounter with him was a good one.

His wolf hunt in Canada was really cool, I always like the guys that get really excited on a hunt, keeps it interesting. I also like the fact that he isn't to picky on the bucks he shoots, makes him seem more down to earth.

Fred is one of the "celebrities" I want to meet and talk to the most. He is always happy go lucky and he doesn't take himself or the hunt so seriously that he forgets to have fun, more should follow his example.

I agree, I like his child-like sense of excitement. I know getting after big bucks requires hard work and some serious studying, but at the end of the day, we all do it because it's fun and Eichler convey's that, big time!
