Great bucks IW! What part of the state do you hunt? Any special techniques or tactics? Gun? Bow?

southern iowa, management is everything I passed on two 160 inch 3 year olds this year in my stand hope it pays off

really spotty but the spots it hit was bad, found alot dead including 164 inch 8 pointer

Yeah my buddy just got back from a shed hunt in sw iowa, they found allot of dead deer.

Iowa Whitetail, nice bucks. What time period do you have the best luck? My old standby by of Nov 1-Nov 10th has been spotty in recent years so I may switch it up a bit this fall. Note: I hunt in Northern MO. One farm is right on the border and the other about 10 miles south.

I was down over the weekend and found 4 dead bucks, all of which died over the last couple months. Lingering effects of EHD maybe? 2nd hand info from a friend but a biologist told him EHD stressed some bucks enough that the stress from the rut and or winter caused some deaths. One had sloughing in the hooves.

I did real well in S.W. Iowa from the 10th to 15th... N.E. Iowa seemed better the 1st week of Nov.

the first week has always been good for me seems the big ones get killed 4 -7 most of the time
