If you had a choice?
Got a question(s);
If you had a choice to hunt whitetail in 1 of 3 different areas listed below in Wisconsin which one and why? Don't pick because you live in one particular area, it's because you want to hunt that particular area.
Area # 1; big timber North / N-east
Area # 2; hill country West
Area #. 3; farmland South / Central
It will be interesting to see your responses because you can hunt these areas so differently.

Re: If you had a choice?
Gut reaction for me is to hunt #3, farmland, as that is what I'm most familiar with....
#2, hill country is neck and neck, though.
I'd be literally lost in the big north woods, in more ways than one.

Re: If you had a choice?
I would say #2 at this point, I am used to farm land (not that I'm proficient by any means yet) but I would love to try the big hills bucks. I want to go to the bigwoods someday but I am nowhere even close to being ready for that challenge yet.

Re: If you had a choice?
I've hunted and killed bucks in all 3. Although I enjoyed all 3 because they are so different, if I had to pick 1 it would be big woods. No, I don't live there either. I enjoy the peace and solitude of a big woods hunt. No barking dogs. Farm machinery or vehicle traffic. Very little pressure during bow season, especially early. Lower deer numbers gives me a challenge every season. If you do hit one, you don't have to worry about fences or property lines. It's also wilder country which I enjoy.

I've hunted all three as well. All have good traits and challenges.
So cool to read your responses.

You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
