What is very interesting is that buck, which appears to be pretty mature, stayed bedded (he certainly wasn't just going for a stroll and ran into the combine but first) in that field with the combine working that field up until the point it killed him. He could have slipped away 15 seconds earlier - like I bet happens countless times - and no one would have known he was around.
Combines move pretty slow relative to a deer, he must have been just jumping up and got caught.
