I had to pass a beautiful buck that I would have liked to take. But rules are rules. He didn't meet the 4 pts on a side for my restricted tag. I guessed both brow tines less than an inch, but he was over 17" wide and over a foot tall.
I could of shot him about 10 different times, but I guess I really only passed him once.
Hope to see him again next year. I am in the 1-5 category, as there were a few spikes that also posed.
How many bucks did you pass up this year?

The first and only buck of the year was the one that I shot. He was my first buck with a bow- He was a 7 pt 3 1/2 yr old and taken on heavily hunted public land.

Hearing that other hunters get a chance to pass on multiple bucks really shows me the amount of work/scouting I need yo do.

Some of us are fortunate to have some good private, if you saw 4 shooters on public, you are doing just fine

I don't get down about it. I just know I can do better. Some of my hunts were not completely thought out, I know I can improve on this as well as finding more/better bedding areas to improve my chances of killing a good buck.

I agree with Casper. You are kicking but in your area, and you definitely can't compare it to anything I am fortunate to be able to hunt. Keep up the good work!

I didn't pass any bucks this year. 1st bucks I saw for the year were on my 5th hunt both shooter(3 1/2 or older). One was a 70 yards and wouldn't come in any closer and the other one was in range but decided to turn and go out of range just before passing a tree into one of my shooting lanes. The 3rd buck I saw was on my 7th hunt of the year and I didn't pass him

9 separate bucks passed, 2 different bucks missed (10 minutes apart...not ready to talk about it yet ) and 1 buck killed

I was fortunate to have the year of years. I killed 2 mature bucks (6 year old and a 12 year old), and passed 1 buck over 160, and another over 170. Awesome stuff!
