Man it been a while. Sorry guys.

Unread postby sticknstringarchery » Wed Jan 30, 2013 12:55 pm

Man it's been a while since I have been on here. I have really missed it too. I haven't had much time at all with my new job and all. On top if that, my laptop crashed and I don't use it enough to even care to fix it. So I use my iPhone.

So some of you may remember at the beginning of 2012 season I was looking for my first bow kill. Well, I got it. Not sure when I'll be able to post pics. It was an early season deer. Not a big one, a button buck to be exact. I was set up on a spot I had not hunted on my property. I had seen signs but, no deer sightings. I saw one pass out of range and knew if I moved in the next morning I would kill my first deer. So the next morning I climbed my tree and waited. I knew they had been passing through from trail cam pics and the sighting the morning before around 8:30am.At 8:00am I grabbed my Prime Centroid and waited. At 8:05am I got winded by a group of doe. Not a good feeling. I was upset pretty bad that I had just blown such a good chance. I decided I would sit still and wait it out. I did get on Tap a Talk and vent about it (I wish this forum was available on TAT by the way) and right at 9:00am on the other side of a cedar I saw it coming. I thought it was a doe so I grabbed my bow and came to full draw. It turned the corner around the tree and I locked in on my spot. 13yd broadside shot. Perfect placement taking out both lungs and the top of the heart. He ran all of 30yd. I was so excited I got my first doe. Not so much after I found it. I was still happy but, the fact it was a button buck was a little disappointing. That feeling came and went pretty fast. I was super happy. So, that's the story of my first bow deer.

So how was everyone else's season? Dan, did you lay down a big one again thi season?

And yeh, Dan got another big buck.

Check out the Deer hunting thread and the new kill zone and you will catch up. Plenty to see here if you havent been on in a while

Nice to have you back.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.

Congrats on your first bowkill.

Doesn't matter how big it is since any bowkill is a trophy. My first was a small spiker and still is my favorite hunting memory. You never forget your first one!
