At least if you purchase a L/W here you will get the best price around. :D

Well, lucky for me I spent a lot of money years ago, a lot of my friends thought I was nuts for spending "too much" for tree stands and climbers for Lone Wolf, (and if I recall, I also won some Lone Wolf stuff, thanks to some fine folks on an old forum ;) ) So I am set for awhile. When the time comes to purchase more, will I say screw it and just take a couple 2x4's and nail to a tree, cause everything else is made in crappy China?...I doubt it. Guess I'll have to make a decision then. Just sittin' here thinking though, for the life of me I can't think on any of the junk I bought, made in China that I can honestly say is of any quality what so ever. Guess I'm sayin' is the best of luck to Lone Wolf.

I would buy the aluminum Raptor series stand from Summit. I've owned them in the past...great stands. But things are always changing. I'd look for whatever looked like the best quality at the time I was shopping. You may be able to find a great older model LW used, like on archerytalk.com.

Black's Archery & Bowhunting 2010 Edition shows 40 treestand manufacturers.

I will try to go through them and report some more USA Manufacturing.

here are a few for now (sorry didnt look back at Dan's list)

here is one that has caught my attention the last few years
http://truequiet.com/

Another Michigan company made in USA (buried a bit but it is made in USA)

Rock on USA.

I'll be hunting with my LW Alpha and Assault this fall.

Regarding the Chippewa Wedgeloc- these are made by a husband and wife team down the road a few miles from me. I have one, and they are tough as nails as a hang on stand- the guy hung a car from one and it didn't budge or bend.

I liked the Chippewa stands except for their base. The base seemed like it could only fit certain diameter trees and smaller. My assault will go into any tree as long as I have the strap extensions.

"What stand are you gonna use now??"

By suggesting how many stands are made in China and other overseas places other than the USA, is circling around the point. The point was that Lone Wolf WAS made in the USA... Soon they won't be. It's sad is all, because now your list of China-made stands will grow - that's the point.

If USA options don't exist, what choice do we have? If we have to support those companies by succombing to our only options, "Made in China", it doesn't mean it's okay, it just means we're doing what we have to in order to support our passion for being perched in a tree. :|

I agree Sam... But its not L/W's fault. Its all the consumers out there buying the Chinese copycat stands that drove the price to a point where L/W was losing all its customers either to cheap stands or accusing L/W of pricing to high without knowing the facts.
I don't want to see them go to China... They don't want to go to China for parts. Its a no win situation that the consumer created. Not L/W

Trophyline USA Tree saddle: The knee pads are made in China, from there website they are definatly hiding wjhere the saddle is made. I suspect its foreign.

You are correct Dan. The tree saddle is made overseas. I needed a medium size and had to wait for the seas container to arrive. That was from their mouth when I called.
