Re: 2013 goals
Plenty of public land scouting planned this spring, I am going to focus on the cream of the crop bedding areas. Then give it my all this fall to get on a buck.

Re: 2013 goals
More marsh scouting close to home. I really had fun and learned a ton out there this season being tagged out opening day. Saw some good deer and shot a doe. More scouting and less turkey hunting this spring in the big woods. Maybe get back in the hills of SW WI next season for the rut!!

Well hopefully end my drouht when it come to killing a good buck. I plan to get out and scout to find some beds and hopefully find some knew spots to hunt. Also try to move around a bit instead of hunting one spot all the time.

Kill a buck while he is laying in his bed.

Re: 2013 goals
Mine is to end my 10+year buckless drought in MI. Granted in the past I've hardly scouted or hunted here & wont shoot a young buck. This year though gonna start scouting public ground. i also plan on doing lots of running & gunning since I'm not partner filming anymore(really tough to run & gun with 2 guys & all the extra gear). Also hoping to kill a deer over 170 inches in IL, hoping he's a freak nasty non-typical about time I kill one of those!!!!

Re: 2013 goals
My goal for 2013 is to enjoy my seasons.
It would be nice to duplicate a spring turkey double with the bow like I did in 2012. But the odds are probably against that and it might be nice to hunt a couple of days instead of one.
If drawn for an out of state archery elk hunt, the goal is to take my first bull.
On the whitetail side of things, I just hope to have a memorable hunt on a good buck (or two). I'm not going to say I will hold out for my biggest buck ever. That puts too much pressure on it and sucks some of the fun out of it for me. I do hope to shoot my first Urban hunt buck this year. Maybe one of my other bucks will be my first with a pistol.

Re: 2013 goals
I have a couple of goals for 2013 as well.
Help my daughter who turns 10 in September shoot her first deer.
Help my son shoot his best buck.
Oh yeah my goal for myself is to shoot the Split Brow buck and find his other side!

Thanks man, it was definitely a humbling season.
For 2013 I am looking to pick up some private closer to wear I currently live and scout some public (i ha w been driving around in the evenings looking for areas I want to knock on some doors), I will prob buy an Illinois tag and hunt private or public since I am a short drive from the border, and also looking to hunt se Minn or Kansas.
I was able to hunt more in 2012 than any other year because i graduated from whitewater. I get three weeks of.vacation this year

My main goal for 2013 is to try and do some filming this year and get a kill or two on film. Gonna start with the gopro on my shotgun or bow this spring in the turkey woods!!!

Re: 2013 goals
1. Starting now: Scout more ground even if it requires much driving around and only settle for sign that is excellent
2. Kill a mature buck "beast style"
3. Dont give up
