Marsh ground - 40/60 mix of woods and marsh, but lots and lots of islands (more than worth trying to count) and lots of transition lines, bowls, points, etc. that could hold beds. Best bedding area within the square mile. Bordering ag supplies the necessary food sources, but have no clue on types of browse/mast within the parcel.
Assuming basic Beast strategy, how do you go about prioritizing your scouting? It's not a big parcel, but assuming I can spend 5-6 hours a weekend, I estimate it'd take me several weekends to fully scout it and that may not be possible based on the fact I have to scout other ground as well.
Confirmed multiple mature bucks on the ground extremely regularly, including daytime game cam photos in gun season in a heavy pressure area.
Assuming I can spend 8-10 hours there, what how do you the "narrow the search."

Hit all the islands and find the mature buck sign, they are going to prefer some over others and the sign should tell you where they are. That should help narrow it down and then just scout the islands with the best sign and make a plan of attack.

I would start by thinking about where other hunters aren't going to go. No use finding good looking areas only to have them full of other hunters. Next would be thinking about wind direction. Look at maps and try to narrow things from there. Start by identifying beds compared to transition areas, when you find buck beds then figure out how to hunt them verses just finding good places, doing this should narrow or down.

Are you going to get snow? I would follow the biggest sets of tracks to their bedrooms.
I would certainly look for overlooked beds close to access since that does't eat up time.
I also think posting an aerial for some Beasts to pick apart like vultures on a carcass could save you some 'boot time'...

Re: Beds A Plenty - Strategy?
Breaking it down into chunks of land somewher around 100 - 150 acres.
I've scouted the past two weekends (w/8" snow) in two different spots and came to the conclusion that you can cover (depending how thick your area is) about 2 - 2.5 hours / 1-mile loop.
(I scouted a swamp edge, also into the swamp a little and then the ridge above...)
My scouting consisted of trying to find bedding (both on the ridges and on swamp points), good trails and also picking out trees - if the spot looked like a winner.
Never enough time!
[glow=red]At this rate I would need to quit my job to have 6-10 mature buck beds to hunt for 2013 - uggh[/glow]!
