The price appears to be resonable. Anyone have any experiance with the Scoutguard 550?
Thanks.

They were Covert cameras the last time I seen them. Dave Skinner is normal guy like us that was makeing homebrews for a while and allways had sweet pics, he started selling them a while back. I'm sure they are very nice cameras, Dave is from Kentucky.

Dave is a good guy I know him personally. He has a website: http://www.lostrivergamecalls.com/products.html
I don't see the scoutgard cameras in his store, but he has a forum and you can ask him all about them.

I have a scout guard 550 that I,ve had for a year and a half. The first time I used it it took over 500 pictures in 6 days. I,ve never had one work so well. Battery life is good, probably 2000 pictures set on 5mp, more on 3mp. I.m very happy with mine.....HAVE A NICE DAY.

Re: What do you know about the Scoutguard Line of trail cams?
I dont have the ScoutGuard, but I have the bushnell trophy cam, which is pretty much the exact same camera with two differences...The SG has an external programmer (its like a little ipod you plug in to program it, then unplug it..you have to bring it with you each time), and the Bushnell comes with a two year warranty vs the one year offered by SG. The covert, scoutguard, and bushnell all have the same camera, same control board, etc so all of their specs (battery life, trigger time, picture quality, etc) are identical.
Now to answer your question about whether or not the camera is any good, I absolutely love my camera, and wouldnt hesitate to buy another one. I have used moultries for a few years, and I dont see myself buying anything except the bushnells anytime soon..The picture quality is decent (ive seen better, but ive seen alot worse), but trigger time and battery life are phenomenal, and their small size makes them very versatile.
I dont think you will be disappointed with any of them. One thing I can tell you though is that if you buy the SG, make sure you buy one from an authorized dealer listed on their website, as there was some issues with some of the cameras caused by the manufacturer allegedly using inferior parts and selling them to anyone who wanted to order them, and Scoutguard refused to buy the cheaper ones. Buying one directly from an authorized dealer is the best way to make sure you are covered under their warranty.
