Went down do Missouri for the first time ever about a month ago for work, and all I could think about the whole time was hunting down in those river bottoms around there!! Good luck hunting

Re: missouri muzzy
MO muzzle hunt is done for this year. Know we all like hunting stories so I'll add this one.
This years hunt is 7 hunters, 5 of us staying at a rented house, and 2 at cabins. Nice setup and within 30 minutes of our different hunting locations.
Opener is on Saturday, 5 of the guys go down on Thursday, but due to commitments 1 buddy and I can't leave until Friday afternoon. We get in late, compare notes go over aerials and topos, and decide where we will hunt the next morning. This is very different terrian than we are accustomed to hunting, more open and rolling terrian with thickets and overgrown creek bottoms. Much different than bigwoods that we are use to hunting. We decide to hunt mobile for a couple of days, and look over the properties that we have to hunt.
Day 1 setup
After 2 days of hunting several properties, all of us are comparing observations. The weather has been warm, and deer movement has been minimal, early a.m. and late p.m. If not hunting bedding, were not seeing much activity. Being open terrian, bedding is localized to creek bottoms and thickets. After dinner on the 2nd night, we all are talking strategy, and without anything on the ground, time to break the ice. We all have been hunting tree stand locations, day 3 forecast is for windy and overcast conditions, and being predominately a still hunter, time to mix it up some.
We looked over a property midday on day 2, that had a very good creek bottom and looked good. Buddy and I decide to hunt this property on day 3, he is going to use a climber on one end of the property, and drop me off on the other end. Will have about 2 miles of creek bottom to still hunt and all day, conditions are good for a still hunt, 20mph quartering winds. The 1st couple of deer seen on this morning (doe and fawn), are bumped out of bed, with the windy conditions, believe they heard my approach but wasn't sure what I was, a couple of quick grunts and they freeze at 60 yds. Think to myself, here is a tendecy that can be used to a advantage. Becomes more of a "rabbit" hunt, well through the day this proves to be the right call.
Enough venison, so day 4 change things up, grab the shotgun and cover some ground. Look over some property for the next hunt.
Time well spent, with good friends "on the hunt", the rare time that we are truly free.
P.S. And yes, the "Crown tradition" lives on, and that Fuentes was enjoyed.

Re: missouri muzzy
On the recent hunt we went on to Missouri. One of my buddies seen what he called a "unusual" buck early in the hunt.
He is a pretty seasoned hunter, and when he said unusual, it got my attention. Know he was after this particular buck, and looks like he closed the deal.
Only picture that he sent, and unusual seems to fit.
