Crazy how it goes from 400,000 to much less in just a couple years and then back up to 200,000.

The 2 years following 2006 and 2007 is a clear correlation of the EAB system in my opinion. Too many deer killed

I definitely agree with that. I remember coming back over Thanksgiving break to hunt and thinking, "Where the heck is all the deer sign?" It's like it was not existent compared to what it was in 05-07. But it definitely did jump back up again. Can't remember which year it was, must have been '08, but it was the last year of EAB. Opening weekend of gun season had PERFECT weather conditions, like 10 degrees and calm winds where I was. And harvest was down dramatically. Seemed like after that hunters really started speaking out against the EAB and the DNR.

Although, it does seem to naturally have cycles of high and low years. Look at 2000. Goes steadily up till it hits that 400,000+ mark, then drops again.

2000 Was about the year they started the CWD slaughter. The 1st couple years the DNR was sniper shooting them at night and promoting everybody to kill everything. They were even trying to scare us into thinking it would kill people. They were filling dumps with deer carcasses.

If the DNR knew back in 2000 that CWD was not going to hurt humans why would they tell them otherwise? Does this go back to the insurance company scandal?
