Yesterday was the last day of my son's deer season. He hunted a total of 12 days with 6 dark to dark sits and passed a number of 2 1/2 and 3 1/2 year old bucks because he wanted to shoot a buck bigger than last years buck. This doe came out last night at 80 yards and he shot her with his Savage 20 gauge slug gun. He was as happy to shoot her as he would a buck. There isnt anything better while hunting than seeing your child shoot a deer as many of you know. Sorry I dont have better pics but Mom was on me to get him home because he has school this morning and we had to pack and a 3 hour drive home. This was one of the biggest doe's we have ever shot on the property.

Re: My Son's Second Deer
Very good times right there. Glad he got one. From the way it sounds like he is passing on smaller bucks. It sounds like you are teaching him right. Great memories.....

If you want to kill a deer you have to be in the woods.

Very cool and happy for the young man.
You can fool some of the bucks, all of the time, and fool all of the bucks, some of the time, however you certainly can't fool all of the bucks, all of the time.
